Event Details

MRSPL and Bards Alley will co-host New York Times bestselling author Andrew Joseph White for the launch of his sophomore novel, The Spirit Bares Its Teeth. A book signing will follow the author talk. Copies of the author's books will be available for sale on-site and can be ordered through Bards Alley's website at www.bardsalley.com.

The Spirit Bares its Teeth features an autistic, trans main character in a Victorian setting. Following sixteen-year old Silas Bell's diagnosis with Veil sickness, he is shipped away to Braxton’s Finishing School and Sanitorium. This book does not shy away from exposing the violence of the patriarchy and the harm inflicted on trans youth who are forced into conformity.
