Event Details
We are discussing The Bride Wore Black. Written in 1940 it is the first murder mystery by Cornell Woolrich. Reviewed as a "stylish, tense thriller" this is the book that launched Woolrich's career, the noted "master of suspense". This book was filmed by Francois Truffaut. Many Cornell Woolrich books were made into film, perhaps most famously his story Rear Window, filmed by Alfred Hitchcock. Joining us via Zoom will be available.
Mystery Book Club
Come in, get cozy and enjoy a group discussion of books of mystery and suspense by famous and lesser known authors from the Golden Age of Mysteries. Meetings will be held every other month, usually on the 4th Wednesday of that month. We have been holding Hybrid meetings; you can join in-person or via zoom
Need a copy of the book? Please search our online catalog or our Overdrive ebook/audiobook collection to check the availability of this book. Special book group copies are also set aside roughly one month before the discussion and can be requested on a first come, first serve basis by emailing circ@fallschurchva.gov.
