Falls Church News Press Archive (1991-2024) Now Available

Sunday, March 2, 2025: A searchable online archive of the Falls Church News Press from 1991-2024 is now available through the Library of Virginia's historic newspaper database.

The Library of Virginia (LVA), working with staff from the Falls Church News Press (FCNP) and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library (MRSPL), has added the FCNP to the Virginia Chronicle, LVA's searchable database of historic Virginia newspapers.

The public can now view - and search across - all issues of the FCNP from March 28, 1991 (the first published issue) through April 18, 2024. However, issues from January-December 2008 are still being digitized and will be added in the coming months.

To Access/Browse the FCNP Archive:

  1. Go to https://virginiachronicle.com/.
  2. Choose "Title" from the main navigation menu running across the top of the screen.
  3. Choose "F" to jump down to newspapers starting with "F."
  4. Click on "Falls Church News Press (Falls Church, VA 1991-2024)."

Other Ways to Access the FCNP:

  • www.fcnp.com: View articles and content on the FCNP's official site.
  • www.issuu.com/fcnp: View all issues of the FCNP from February 6, 2008-present on Issuu. (Note: Issuu does not permit searching across all FCNP issues, only within individual FCNP issues).
  • Falls Church History Room: MRSPL's Falls Church History Room maintains a collection of all print issues of the FCNP from 1991-present, as well as copies on microfilm from 1991-2008.

Special thanks to Nicholas F. Benton (FCNP Owner & Editor in Chief), Nick Gatz (FCNP Managing Editor), and Kelley Ewing (from LVA's Virginia Newspaper Program) for making this amazing new archive possible!
