Bruce Holsinger is a novelist and literary scholar based in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is the author of the USA Today bestselling novel The Gifted School. The novel was named one of the Best Books of 2019 by NPR and is currently in development as a TV series with NBC/Universal Television. His new novel, The Displacements, is "an adrenaline-fueled story of lives upended and transformed by an unprecedented catastrophe...A suspenseful read plotted on a vast national tapestry, The Displacements thrillingly explores what happens when privilege is lost and resilience is tested in a swiftly changing world."
Since 2005 he has taught in the Department of English at the University of Virginia, where he specializes in medieval literature and modern critical thought. His nonfiction books have won major awards from the Modern Language Association, the Medieval Academy of America, and the American Musicological Society.
Twenty copies of The Displacements will be raffled off to registrants for the event. Funding for this program was provided by the estate of Nadia Tongour.
